I want all of you to meet our amazing “helper”, Manang Roomba!  She’s been with us for about 8 years now; tirelessly and seamlessly vacuuming our hard floors and rugs.

I’ve been using it everyday to keep on top of dirt, dust, dog hair, and general crummy stuff, yet it still collected THAT much I don’t even get to sweep off that much dust at all when I just use a broom. She goes over everything twice — slowly and deliberately. I tried putting our chihuahua on top of the iRobot for a free ride but she (the dog) wasn’t having it all. Sorry, Tiffany! That would’ve made this video cooler though.

Anyway, I got the iRobot during one of my trips to the US. Used a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond. It’s been working daily since 2016. Some of the features that I love about it is that it has an app that enables you to activate it even when you’re not home, schedule a specific time for daily vacuuming, and see the status of cleaning jobs. It also automatically returns to the home base charging station to recharge at the end of each cleaning cycle or when its battery is running low. There are newer models now, but they say this model (980), is still the best.

Cheaper AlternativeNot to worry, I read that the Xiaomi Smart Robot Vacuum (available on Lazada and in Mi Stores) is just as good as the Roomba 980 and you can get it for way less than the Roomba. Like A LOT less.

My Roomba really does the work for me. Under my bed and furniture has never been this clean. Let me tell you …this is so much better than just sweeping. It’s just waaaay too dusty here in the Philippines. Definitely one of my best investments and makes my OC, neat freak, germaphobe heart happy.
